This is my video HOWTO for opening a new AWS account, including the following:

• Setting up billing alerting to warn us of any spent
• Configuring a ‘worker’ account to prevent the root account from being used for normal operations
• Retrieving access keys and configuring the AWS CLI v2 to enable API access from command line and Terraform

Since there is a lot of GUI work involved, it’s easier to do everything in a video rather than in a written howto.
